The Fifth Meeting of the Board of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) was convened under the mandate of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to advance the operationalization of the Fund, aiming to provide timely and effective support to communities experiencing the adverse effects of climate change. The meeting brought together the 26 Board Members and their alternates<\/a><\/span> representing developed and developing countries. The meeting was also attended by observers from UN organizations, intergovernmental organizations, and non-government organizations admitted under the UNFCCC process. Several key agenda items that are discussed at its Fifth Board Meeting are the start-up phase of the Fund, establishment of the Budget Committee, and the adoption of the Barbados Implementation Modalities (BIM) for 2025-2026.
